Abstract

This paper presents an approach to address the practical and academic challenge of predicting the sucess of technologies in advance. The main contribution is the conceptual development of a framework that enables predictions of value-in-use based on weak indicators that are derived from technology acceptance research. The components of the framework are developed in a multidisciplinary approach based on the design science principles that ensure rigor and relevance of the research process and its outcome. A preliminary evaluation agenda is presented to evaluate the framework regarding its viability and its usefulness in practice.
