Abstract

There is a substantial number of various proposals for possible applications of upper ontologies. Several comparisons of chosen upper ontologies have also been made and an idea of one unified upper ontology is still present. This paper describes an initial research about connections of domain ontologies with upper ones through relations between root classes of domain ontologies and upper ontology concepts. Analysis results and potential for further research are also presented.
