Abstract

In the context of academic and economic internationalization, Web 2.0 tehnology provides the platform that can support educational activities for the promotion of intercultural competence. The pilot study in this paper focuses on the experiences in using online collaborative writing tools in a Business English course to improve critical reading/writing skills, but also to sensitize learners to the dimensions of business cultures. In the empirical part of the paper the students’ evaluation of the pedagogical aspects of the use of Web 2.0 tools (wiki, Google Docs) for the online project is presented. Also, the preliminary evaluation of the results indicated that the tasks based on describing business cultures in a collaborative writing space were perceived as beneficial for mobilization of students’ intercultural awareness.
