Abstract

In this invited talk I present the study andresearch directions of Business information systemsat the Technical university of Košice. Our researchcontext as well as important changes in the Košiceregion where many IT companies came with theirinvestments, created unique conditions fordevelopment of new study programs in Businessinformation systems.
Since their successful accreditation 8 years agowe acquired interesting experiences which will beshared with participants of the CECIIS conference inVaraždin, which is a bit symbolic. Faculty of theOrganization and Informatics at Varaždin wasnamely one of our inspirations at the very beginningof this story.
