This  paper  shows  the  results  of  conducted research  on  applicability  of  analytical  software  in competitive  intelligence.  In  so  doing  there  were explored  two  types of  intelligence analytical software of  two  companies:  i2 and Xanalys. The paper  shows practical  usage  of  chosen  features  of  selected analytical  products.  We  specially  investigated  and defined  the role of  intelligence  information system as necessary prerequisite for efficient usage of analytical software in competitive intelligence.
