Managing the Private Higher Learning Institutions with the Support of Information Technology: Strategic Framework

Abstract


Nowadays, in information age, managing the organizations is inconceivable without using the information technology. All areas of human knowledge are spreading fast and only quality education will allow future generations to handle such enormous knowledge. Therefore, the number of higher learning institutions, especially in the private sector, increases on the daily basis. Management of private learning institutions is faced with the problem of choosing the right method of managing their organizations in order to achieve strategic goals and be successful in the educational market. On one side there is a lot of contemporary management methods, and on the other side, the influence of information technology on conducting business is more important. Management is required to choose a set of methods, i.e. methodology that will suit them best in running their learning institutions. In this paper, methods SWOT, BSC and AHP are explored and combined into the unique methodology. This methodology, together with the appropriate information technology support, represents the strategic management framework that can be used in a variety of private higher learning institutions.
